The country’s 2nd kingdom was from the 11th—13th century. During this era, Polonnaruwa was its capital. Here you find a vast range of historic attractions. Stupas, Hindu and Buddhist places of worship, monasteries, irrigation works are still in good working conditions after some improvements that were done.

This is one of the key archeological sites in the cultural triangle since the 5th century. History says that it has inhabited since pre-historic times. This is an 80 m granite rock. At the base you find water and boulder gardens, a moat and old city walls while on the rock has frescos of heavenly beings and archeological remains on the top. You can start at the onsite modern museum.

This town is situated in the Matale district of Sri Lanka. This is well known for its historical and cultural heritage. Along with several ancient sanctuaries, the biggest and most conserved temple is the Dambulla Cave temple which is found here. ‘Na Uyana Aranya’ or the ‘Ironwood Grove Forest Monastery’ is also here. Nuwara Eliya is famous for its tea plantations. It has a subtropical climate at an altitude of 1868 m when in other parts of the country it’s 16 ͦ C. This is so favorable to host a variety of flowering plants, trees, ferns, mammals, birds and reptiles. Piduruthalagala, the tallest mountain with a height of 2524 m above sea level which looms over the town is the catchment of the some of the country’s major rivers.

This is a strict nature reserve and a national park, along the south-east coast of Sri Lanka covering almost 13,000 ha. This is home to elephants, spotted deer, crocodiles, the world’s largest concentration of leopards, sloth bears, langurs as the landscapes comprises of lagoons, shallow lakes, light forest, scrub and grasslands.

This is a small coastal town in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. Water activities such as whales and dolphin watching is done best in Mirissa, as the world’s biggest animal which is the blue whale can be spotted here. The beach in Mirissa is one of the best surf beaches for experienced surfers with the powerful punchy breaks and the strong undercurrent. The surfers are attracted as there is easy access to the beach and the waves and the lack of crowds.
