Day by day

  1. Day 1Airport - Negombo

    Arrive at Colombo Bandaranaike Airport.

    Our chauffeur-guide, who will be your travel companion throughout your tour of Sri Lanka, will meet you at the airport. You will then be transferred to your accommodation in Negombo and check in at the hotel.
    (Approximate driving duration: 20–30 minutes)

  2. Day 2Negombo - Sigiriya

    Today, after a relaxing breakfast, you will travel to Sigiriya (approximate driving duration: 4–5 hours).

    En route, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (activity duration: 2–3 hours).

    Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage offers an unforgettable close-up experience with the world’s largest land mammals. Home to 70 elephants, visitors can feed playful calves and even assist in bathing, creating truly memorable encounters.

  3. Day 3Sigiriya

    Today, after a relaxing breakfast, embark on a Sigiriya Village Tour (activity duration: 2–3 hours).

    The tour offers an authentic Sri Lankan experience. Spend time with villagers, enjoy tractor and catamaran rides, walk through lush fields, learn to cook traditional dishes, and conclude with a delicious buffet lunch served in true Sri Lankan style.

    In the afternoon, visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (activity duration: 2–3 hours).

    Celebrated by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World, Sigiriya is an ancient palace and fortress complex of immense archaeological importance. Rising 200 meters above the surrounding jungle, this volcanic rock plateau attracts thousands of visitors each year.

    Return to the hotel and relax.

  4. Day 4Sigiriya - Kandy

    This morning, after breakfast, transfer to Kandy (approximate drive duration: 2–3 hours).

    En route, visit the Spice Garden in Matale (activity duration: 1–2 hours).

    Enjoy an immersive journey into Sri Lanka’s spice heritage—explore fragrant plantations, discover Ayurvedic plants, and learn the traditional uses of spices in cooking and medicine within the island’s spice growing heart.
    Upon arrival in Kandy, check in to the hotel and relax.

    In the evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth (activity duration: 1–2 hours).

    Kandy’s crown jewel, the Sri Dalada Maligawa, houses Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist relic—a tooth of the Buddha. With its golden roof and classical Kandyan architecture, this revered complex is both a cultural and spiritual treasure.

    Afterward, enjoy a Kandyan dance performance (activity duration: 1 hour).

    Rooted in the ancient Kohomba kankariya ritual, Kandyan dance is Sri Lanka’s iconic cultural tradition. Once tied to the Temple of the Tooth, it now thrives on stage, with the sacred ves dance epitomizing Kandyan heritage.

  5. Day 5Kandy

    After breakfast, accompanied by your naturalist guide, take a tuk-tuk ride to the starting point of your hike on the Pekoe Trail (Route 1 or 2; activity duration depends on your preference and physical condition).

    The Pekoe Trail, a 300+ km route across Sri Lanka’s central highlands, is divided into 22 stages. It winds through tea plantations, villages, forests, and cultural sites, offering immersive adventure experiences while promoting sustainable travel and supporting local communities.

  6. Day 6Kandy

    This morning, after breakfast, visit the Ceylon Tea Museum (activity duration: 1–2 hours).

    Located in Hantane near Kandy, the museum showcases historic tea machinery, a library, tea outlets, and a café. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views and benefit from its proximity to Peradeniya Gardens and Loolecondera, Sri Lanka’s first commercial tea estate.

    Afterward, enjoy a Kandy city tour and shopping experience (activity duration: 2–3 hours).

    In the evening, visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens (activity duration: 2–3 hours).

    Situated just outside Kandy, these renowned gardens are home to over 4,000 plant species, including orchids and palms. Highlights include the graceful Avenue of Palms and the historic Cannonball Tree, planted in 1901.

  7. Day 7Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

    This morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Kandy Railway Station.

    Begin your scenic train journey from Kandy to Nanu Oya (approximate duration: 3–4 hours).

    Sri Lanka’s train routes are among the most beautiful in the world. The ride to the hill country takes you through misty tea estates, lush forests, and breathtaking landscapes, making the Kandy–Nanu Oya journey one of the most iconic in the country.

    Upon arrival at Nanu Oya Railway Station, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya (approximate drive duration: 1–2 hours).

  8. Day 8Nuwara Eliya - Ella

    Early morning, after breakfast, travel to Horton Plains by jeep (approximate drive duration: 1–2 hours).

    Begin wild trekking in Horton Plains (activity duration: 3–4 hours).

    A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Horton Plains spans 3,169 hectares at an altitude of 2,100m. With rich biodiversity, the dramatic World’s End escarpment, and vital river catchments, it offers breathtaking scenery, endemic species, and diverse ecosystems for nature lovers.
    Return to the hotel and relax.

    Afterwards, Travel to Ella (approximate drive duration: 2–3 hours).

    Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and unwind.

  9. Day 9Ella

    In the morning, after breakfast, hike to Little Adam’s Peak (activity duration: 2–3 hours).

    This easy trail through tea plantations rewards hikers with breathtaking panoramic views of Ella Rock, rolling fields, the Ella Gap, and even the distant southern coast.

    Afterward, visit the Nine Arch Bridge (activity duration: 2–3 hours).

    Built in 1921 without steel, this 30 meter high marvel is surrounded by lush tea fields. The bridge offers stunning views, best experienced when a train passes gracefully across its arches.

    Return to the hotel and unwind.

    In the evening, hike to Ella Rock (if you are fit enough) (activity duration: 3–4 hours).

    The Ella Rock View Point provides sweeping vistas of lush landscapes and tea plantations. Popular with hikers, it offers tranquil beauty and magical sunrise or sunset scenes, making it a must visit destination in Sri Lanka.

  10. Day 10Ella - Yala

    In the morning, after breakfast, travel to Yala (approximate drive duration: 2–3 hours).

    En route, make a short stop to enjoy Ravana Ella Waterfall (activity duration: 10–20 minutes).

    Ravana Falls, one of Sri Lanka’s widest waterfalls at 82 feet, lies near Ella within the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary. Named after King Ravana, it offers scenic views, swimming opportunities, and is best visited during the wet season.

    Upon arrival in Yala, check in to the hotel and relax.

    In the afternoon, enjoy a safari in Yala National Park (activity duration: 3–4 hours).

    Sri Lanka’s most visited reserve, Yala spans 1,260 sq km and is home to diverse wildlife. Famous for elephants, leopards, peacocks, and crocodiles, the park offers unforgettable safari experiences, best enjoyed at dawn or dusk.

  11. Day 11Yala - Airport

    Today, you will be transferred to Colombo Airport to catch your flight home, carrying with you all the happy memories of the tropical isle of Sri Lanka.(Approximate drive duration from Yala to Airport : 3–4 hours).
